• Renovation of a 19th century gambrel manor house sitting a top the cliffs of Manchester by the Sea, overlooking the Atlantic. This home was altered in the 70’s and lost most of its character due to the removal of a large section of the home, inappropriate use of materials and installation of casement windows. The goal of the renovation was to restore the original character, balance, and beauty that had been lost through previous alterations.
  • The new enlarged kitchen brings together a comfortable dining area, home office space, and a large island for food prep, and ample space for people to congregate.
  • The selection of natural finishes for the exterior plays off the slate roof and stone walls and creates a balanced contrast that solidifies the house as a whole. The end result is rich and balanced with fine details that reflect the past while accommodating the needs and tastes of a modern family.
  • New Second Floor bathroom with custom tile shower and built in Jacuzzi tub.
  • Second and Third floor balconies provide breathtaking views of the ocean.
  • Guest suite bedroom on the third floor, with bed tucked into gabled dormer. This former underutilized third floor space is now a guest suite with ample natural light and fantastic ocean views, and features a central roof deck nestled between the bedroom and living space.
  • Wooden patio provides an open sun drenched space overlooking the ocean.
  • This new stair connects the guest suite above to a common space on the second floor, which has a railing overlooking the foyer below.
