• This residence was updated and enlarged for a growing family. The renovation also solved a major circulation problem in the house, eliminating the former diagonal path through the family room and providing convenient access to a new mudroom.
  • Sketch of the proposed addition to address circulation issue. Previously, the circulation path from the garage and side door to the kitchen flowed diagonally through the family room, making furnishing the room a challenge.
  • By borrowing some unused space from the garage the circulation into the house is now redirected via a hallway that also serves as a family photo gallery. The hallway leads to a new mudroom with built-in storage cubbies and bench, as well as a doorway to the back yard and patio.
  • The newly renovated and enlarged kitchen with spacious center island.
  • The kitchen opens to the new sunroom addition used for every day dining and relaxing around the wood stove in the large window seat.
  • A partial second story addition above the sunroom gives added space for a new master bedroom suite. A comfortable window seat/day bed is tucked into a nook along one side of the sunroom. The former master bedroom and bath are customized for the needs of the growing girls..
  • The dining and seating areas in the new sunroom overlook the yard through large picture windows.
  • The landscaping and outdoor patio provide the finishing touches to the relaxing feel of the back yard.
